The Inaugural 2012 Iranian Amateur Open is now open for entry to amateur golfers from all around the world. The tournament, officially endorsed by the Iranian Golfing Federation, will take place over three days from the 20th to 22nd April 2012.

All male and female amateur golfers with an up to date verified handicap are eligible for entry.

The course will be par 73 over 6611 yards and will take in 3 separate events; Callaway on day 1, Stableford on day 2 and Strokeplay on the final day.

It will be led by tournament director Brian Wilkie. Brian worked for 2 seasons for the European Golf Tour as Rules official, and was present at all their events, including refereeing World Matchplay matches and 3 Ryder cup matches. He also officiated on the first Open held in Oman in Muscat, gave rulings and conducted the playoff. He has also wrote several articles on the Rules of Golf for the UK's major golf magazine 'Golf World'.
